reStrikeOBS

Frame-accurate instant replay, native to OBS.

A C++ plugin that turns OBS Studio into a courtside replay desk: continuous multi-angle capture, frame-by-frame review, digital zoom and live telestration — armed by the scoring machine and operated from a single dock.

Real reStrike IVR 4-camera synced replay multiview with the live Daedo scoreboard

A real captured replay: four armed angles plus the live scoreboard feed, every camera ending on the same trigger frame. Flip between CAM 1–4 and they stay locked to the exact moment.

GLASS & SENSORS

Real cameras decide real points.

In taekwondo, instant replay is evidence — the referee judges a contested point frame by frame. reStrike shoots every angle on real Sony Alpha cameras with fast prime glass, not the cheap IP cameras that smear the decisive moment into a guess.

SONY α6300 / α5100 · APS-C 10mm f/2.0 ASPHERICAL HYBRID PHASE-DETECT AF 4× 1080p60 → 4K60 MULTIVIEW
reStrike camera objective lens

Four 1080p60 Alpha angles are stitched into one frame-synced 4K60 multiview — so the four multi-angle feeds share a single clock and every camera ends on the exact same trigger frame.

THE DECISIVE FRAME
Blurred, blocky, inconclusive
FROZEN, NOT BLURRED
A fast shutter, by design.

For replay you don't want cinematic motion blur — you want every frame sharp enough to freeze on the point of contact. That takes a fast shutter speed, and a fast shutter only works when enough light reaches the sensor.

A bright f/2.0 lens on a large APS-C sensor delivers that light even under dim venue strip-lighting — so a spinning head kick lands as a crisp, frozen frame instead of a smear. A tiny IP-camera sensor with a slow lens can't: venue light forces it into a slow shutter (blur) or heavy gain (noise).

FRAME-SYNCED SCOREBOARD
The board you see is the board at that frame.

The live PSS scoreboard — Daedo or KP&P — is captured as a feed inside the very same 4K60 multiview, locked to the same trigger frame as every camera. No drift between the action and the score: a review shows exactly what the clock and score read at the instant of contact.

SLOW-MO REVIEW
★ Synced multi-angle

CAM1–4 + score feed, each with its own decoder, locked to one transport clock and end-aligned to kill inter-camera skew.

★ Frame-by-frame

Step one frame at a time with the scroll wheel, slow-motion from 0.25×, and an in-RAM ring buffer for lag-free review.

★ Digital PTZ

GPU zoom, pan and tilt — drag a region on the program to push in, with no re-encode and no quality loss.

★ Telestration

Draw circles, lines and freehand straight onto the replay — rendered into the program output for the broadcast.

PSS scoring integration

Listens to the live Daedo or KP&P system over UDP and turns clock, scores, warnings and results into semantic events.

Recording + auto chapters

Records each match, writes crash-safe chapter markers for every scoring moment, and auto-restarts if a match drops.

Triggers & overlays

A rules engine fires scene switches and reStrikeSGX graphics from scoring events, OBS events or a time of day.

Kiosk-locked for the venue

Freeze the UI, hide the menus and lock the desk for court-laptop operation — unlock with a passphrase.

UNDER THE HOOD

A replay engine built for the moment, not the seek bar.

"Instant replay" inside OBS is usually frame-seeking — every step re-decodes from a keyframe and stutters. reStrike ships its own async source and on-demand FFmpeg decoder, so review is smooth from the very first frame.

★ Sequential decode

A stateful decoder walks frames in order with PTS-paced playback and smart rebuffering — no per-frame-seek lag, no stutter scrubbing back and forth.

★ GPU 4K decode

Optional d3d11va / NVDEC hardware decode keeps 4K replay fluid on a discrete GPU, freeing the CPU for capture and encoding.

★ RAM scrub buffer

A decoded-frame ring buffer around the playhead keeps wheel frame-stepping instant — no re-decode, even scrubbing back and forth.

SCRUB BUFFER
240 frames, already decoded.

A ±2-second window around the playhead — 240 fully-decoded frames at 60fps — is held in RAM. Every scroll-wheel step lands instantly with zero decode lag, forward or back, for ultra-smooth frame-by-frame review. It auto-arms the moment you enter the replay scene, so the buffer is primed before the first contested call.

MATCH RECORDING & CHAPTERS
Every bout recorded, chaptered by the scoring machine.

Each match is saved as its own MKV in the session's /matches folder. Every PSS event — round, time, score, technique — is embedded as a chapter with bundled mkvpropedit, so an editor jumps straight to the action.

Crash-safe — startup reconciliation re-attaches chapters to any recording interrupted by a power or app drop.
Open at last chapter — optionally drop the playhead on the most recent scoring moment instead of frame 0.
Standardized naming — files land as MATCH - no - blue (NOC) vs red (NOC), ready to archive.

HARDWARE SWITCHER · BLACKMAGIC ATEM
Drive the broadcast switcher from the replay desk.

reStrike speaks the ATEM protocol directly: your program scene cuts the physical switcher through an editable scene-to-input map. Flip on bidirectional sync and an operator cut on the ATEM flips OBS too — with a 750 ms echo-suppression latch that kills feedback loops. Validated live.

Unique-ID hard bond — locks control to one physical unit by its stable ID over the Videohub protocol, so it never drives the wrong switcher on a shared LAN.
LAN scan — finds units by mDNS plus a TCP-9990 subnet sweep (Minis don't advertise mDNS), each listed as name + IP.
One-button connect — auto-captures the device on connect; supports ATEM Mini, Mini Pro and Mini Pro ISO.

ENGINEERED FOR THE VENUE

Built to not fail mid-tournament.

Nothing auto-connects when OBS launches and everything disconnects on close — so a stray packet never hijacks your desk. When you're ready, one button reconnects every configured integration, one at a time.

Manual-only + Reconnect all

PSS, switcher, OCR, overlay and live feed never auto-bind. One Session-page button brings them all back from saved settings, in sequence.

Settings export / import

Bundle settings, log-config and hotkeys to move a configured rig to a new machine — import rewrites user-profile paths automatically.

First-run wizard

A fresh machine can import a bundled default OBS profile, scene collection and reStrike settings — courtside-ready in minutes.

Hotkey persistence

reStrike saves and restores its own frontend hotkeys (OBS doesn't), with a one-time "assign defaults?" prompt.

OCR scoreboard fallback

When the PSS UDP path isn't available, a Tesseract reader lifts match # and both athletes straight off the Daedo scoreboard for file naming.

Password-locked restart

A passphrase gates the session restart, and kiosk mode freezes docks and menus app-wide — so nothing gets bumped mid-session.

LIVE FEED CONNECTOR
The same plugin powers the public scoreboard.

reStrikeOBS pushes live match state — court, tournament, scores, clock — straight to re-strike.net/live. Coaches, family and fans follow every court in real time, and any tournament can embed the board on its own site.
